How to Save Samsung Galaxy Tab Battery Life

Article from : Updated Smart Phones

Actually the battery is a classic problem that we usually find on the smarphone or Android tablet. But as usual, this can be tricked. So is the Samsung GALAXY Tab 2. With a sharp wide-screen, you may be attracted to constantly interact with your tablet, so it must be frequent enough to recharge the battery. Well, what can we do to save it?

Set the WLAN
WLAN or better known as Wi-Fi, is one of the factors that could cause the tablet you are running out of power quickly. Go to Settings, choose Wi-Fi, then tap the icon 3 lines in the upper right corner, and select Advanced.

Go to the options Enable Wi-Fi when sleep and you will be faced with three options the use of WiFi: Always, only when plugged in and not ever. The first option is suitable if you do not subscribe to mobile Internet connectivity on the network or are downloading games, but the effect is your battery will be quickly drained. The second option will set the WiFi is active only when you are connected to the hotspot.

While the latter option will turn off Wi-Fi and saves your battery – but spend your quota data plan. If you want less hassle, you must be diligent to turn on WiFi when to use and set it off again quickly by touching the panel set that is always available at the bottom right of the screen.

Setting the GPS
Still in the settings, select the locations and disable the option Use GPS Satellites. Search the GPS signal is continuously going to take a lot of tablet battery. This option is only really useful when you are outdoors, and want to use Google Maps. Disable the option Use a wireless network is also in the location setting. In addition, the control panel on the bottom right of the screen quickly, turn off the GPS when not in use as well.

Synchronization
For those of you who use a tablet just for reading books or browsing for news, automatic synchronization can be disabled to reduce the usage data. On the Settings menu, select Accounts and then disable the Auto Sync synchronization.

Multitasking
You do not always need a multitasking process. If so, it should be disabled to save power. The trick, still in the settings, select Options Development and turn off Do Not Keep Activities, so when you exit an application, it will not keep running in the background.

The screen brightness
The last, adjust the screen brightness level you use. Automatic option is a great idea, but if you want to be more efficient, just use the lowest brightness level. If you feel uncomfortable, move the cursor to the left and right until you feel “just right” when looking at the screen. The cursor can also be easily found on the control panel quickly in clock information.

Samsung Galaxy S III/S3 GT-I9300 Factory Unlocked Phone (Ceramic White) Reviews :This is the number one reason to have this phone, particularly if you have kids or are prone to drop things. Trust me, if you pay up to $600 for the cellphone or anything else for that matter then you would like to at least know that when you accidentally drop it, that it is not the end of the line for your purchase. The gorilla-glass helps make the front of the phone virtually unbreakable, What i'm saying is you aren't going to be able to damage the display screen or break it!
All the buttons are simple to use, you simply have to get used to where they're and what all they do.

I would suggest this cell phone to everyone which i realize that can appreciate a top quality android phone. There is a reason that this phone has been in such big demand. When you get the chance...get it...you do not regret your purchase. It's just awesome,  I don't have words to describe it.. The Best Phone ever!

Elevate 4G Mobile Hotspot - NO CONTRACT Reviews

Elevate 4G Mobile Hotspot - NO CONTRACT Reviews :I have been interested in getting a Wi-Fi hotspot for quite a while, but the question was which one, and on which carrier? I was originally planning on Sprint or Virgin Mobile, but they don't have the best coverage. I ruled out T-Mobile immediately since I already have a smartphone with tethering from them. I made a decision to choose AT&T. They have an growing LTE network, but in the meantime they have a large HSPA+ 4g coverage that Verizon cannot currently match. So with AT&T I get the almost universal immediate use of the HSPA+ 4g, LTE in some markets, and things will only get better as their LTE coverage expands.

As for the gadget itself, I've yet to find a spot with no 4g coverage. Speeds are fast, coverage is great, and the device is very much reliable and easy to use. I purchased this device for a mobile install I was doing.
Overall I'm very pleased with the device, and would definitely recomend it , I love the operating system and the device works great..

Best Reviews Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for Motorola Droid Bionic 4G (Verizon)

I had one of these on my last phone, a Droid X, and I liked it a lot; no complaints. This one doesn't seem to fit quite as well, but I believe that it just because of the design of the phone (the snap-on battery cover, more specifically). It takes some finesse and care to remove without tearing the battery cover off, but it's not hard. If you wanted a case that's quick and easy to remove, however, this might not be the one. For me, that wasn't really important, and it does exactly what I need it to do: protect my phone. This and a decent screen protector should keep this phone looking factory new until I'm ready to sell it and upgrade again.

Also, don't expect miracles on drop protection. Use common sense, treat your $400 phone like it's worth something, and that won't be an issue. It's been knocked off of tables onto hard floors at restaurants and bars, no problem. It gets knocked off my nightstand a few times a week when I try to snooze the alarm too, also not a problem. If you plan on using it as a hockey puck, or don't have thumbs, or you just like to destroy expensive stuff... you may want to get the (massive, ugly, and expensive) Otterbox Defender. TLDR: Good basic case. Not perfect. Would recommend to people who respect their stuff.

Tapping Earth's magnetic field for indoor navigation

While outdoor navigation has been mastered with GPS satellites and cell phone triangulation, indoor navigation has proven more tricky.

Now, a group of researchers at the University of Oulu in Finland has tapped the Earth's magnetic field to create an indoor positioning system (IPS). The researchers say their approach was inspired by studying the way homing pigeons and lobsters use anomalies in the magnetic field to navigate their travels.

Researchers explain in a paper (PDF) -- titled "Ambient magnetic field-based indoor location technology / Bringing the compass to the next level" -- that the same magnetic field that proves so useful to animals also has true navigation applications for humans.

"Modern buildings with reinforced concrete and steel structures have unique, spatially-varying ambient magnetic fields that can be used for positioning, in much the same way (albeit on a much smaller spatial scale) as animals use the Earth's magnetic field," the paper's authors say. "In principle, a non-uniform ambient magnetic field produces different magnetic observations, depending on the path taken through it."

"Each building, floor and corridor creates a distinct magnetic field disturbance that can be measured to identify a location and generate a map," Janne Haverinen, who headed the research team, said in a statement. "When iPhone and Android phones arrived with built-in compasses, we realized that we could develop an innovative indoor navigation solution by applying our digital signal-processing expertise."

The core technology, which requires no external hardware infrastructures to operate, is accurate down to a tenth of a meter, researcher say.

Researchers, who have spun off their effort into a new company called IndoorAtlas, have released an smartphone API consisting of indoor mapping tools, software licenses, and a cloud-based mapping service.

HTC EVO LTE 4G Android Phone (Sprint) Reviews

I was looking to replace my Samsung Epic 4G which I had owned for nearly two years. Narrowed my list of choices down to the HTC EVO 4G LTE and the Samsung Galaxy S3. Elected to go with the EVO because it got a better write up from experts and users alike when compared to the Galaxy S3. Delighted I did because the EVOs performance has been nothing less than impressive. Outstanding graphics resolution and blazing processing speeds set this phone apart from it's closest rivals. This phone is well worth the price out of the box , the beats audio allows the phone to act as it's own equalizer enhancing certain frequencies and sounds and suppressing others so you're left with a very rich, concert-like sound rather than something that has been muddled together in the recording studio.  This HTC EVO LTE 4G Android Phone (Sprint) is the most popular on the marketplace and aimed to focus on the most important with this products.

How Can You Connect to Sprint's LTE Network?

Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE: S) will finally launch its first five Long Term Evolution (LTE) cities this Sunday, so Light Reading Mobile runs down what you need to get connected to the carrier's faster 4G.
The benefit of LTE for users is that they can get faster data downloads and uploads on smartphones, tablets and PCs. The launch is expected to bring users speeds that are three times that of the 3 to 6 Mbit/s offered over Sprint's current WiMax network, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
Getting connected
First, you need to live in one of these five cities: Atlanta, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston or San Antonio, Texas. See the map below for more details:

View Sprint 4G LTE Markets in a larger map
Sprint's hometown, Kansas City, is actually online now, according to various user forums.
Second, you need to have one of these five devices:

Table 1: Sprint's LTE Devices
Manufacturer/Device Type of device Price With Contract
HTC EVO 4G LTE Smartphone $199
Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE Smartphone $199
Samsung Galaxy S III Smartphone $199
Sierra Wireless 4G LTE Tri-Fi Hotspot Personal hot spot with 3G, WiMax and LTE $99
LG Viper 4G LTE Smartphone $99

The High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC) (Taiwan: 2498) EVO 4G LTE will be familiar to many Sprint users as it is a revamp of the EVO brand that the operator used to launch its WiMax network. Unique features include HD Voice for better call quality and a kickstand built into the phone. (See HD Voice: Can't Hear You Now.) The $99 LG Electronics Inc. (London: LGLD; Korea: 6657.KS) Viper 4G LTE is the choice for the cost- conscious user who wants to get on the latest and greatest Sprint network. It also flaunts its green credentials with a case made from 50 percent recycled plastic. (See Sprint Launches Eco-Friendly LTE Viper.) One selling point of Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE for Android fans is its tight integration with Google (Nasdaq: GOOG)'s Android operating system. Google introduced its latest attempt to sell its own phone in April and the device will be used to show off services like Google Wallet. (See Google Unlocks a Nexus Phone (Again).) The Samsung Galaxy S III is the vendor's flagship smartphone at present. It includes unique features like advanced face recognition and the ability to share pictures instantly with nearby friends over Wi-Fi. (See Samsung's New Galaxy: A Data Hog Approaches.) The Sierra Wireless Inc. (Nasdaq: SWIR; Toronto: SW) 4G LTE Tri-Fi Hotspot is the best choice for a Sprint user who wants to connect multiple devices to Sprint's fastest network option in whatever city they happen to be in. The portable router connects via LTE, WiMax or 3G to Sprint and can support up to eight separate devices over Wi-Fi. What you can't use None of the current AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) or Verizon Wireless LTE devices will work over the new Sprint 4G network. AT&T and Verizon are using different bands of the 700MHz frequencies, while Sprint is starting LTE on its 1900MHZ PCS spectrum. There are no multi-band radio support or roaming agreements in place, so there's no way for a Sprint LTE user to roam onto the much larger Verizon 4G footprint. (See Countdown to 4G Roaming in the US?) The bottom line Sprint is going heavy on the smartphones for its LTE launch. The choice between the three $200 Android handsets might come down to which vendor you prefer or which feature set appeals most. The $99 Viper is clearly the bargain shopper's choice. The Sierra Wireless hotspot might actually be the pick of the bunch if you live in one of the LTE cities but plan to travel. It can also get your laptop or tablet connected to the faster LTE network. 4G tablets are expected to arrive from Sprint this year but are absent from the LTE roster as of now.

How to Keep Your Cell Phone Charged While Traveling

by Claudia Stanic, Demand Media
from : http://traveltips.usatoday.com/keep-cell-phone-charged-traveling-62187.html

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger
Maintaining a fully charged cell phone while traveling is important for comfort and safety. Cell phones help fellow travelers remain synchronized, and are a necessity if paramedics or roadside assistance are required. Technological expansion in electronics has led to the availability of outlets and on-the-go chargers.

Step 1 :Place your phone charger in your carry-on luggage when traveling by air. Plug your phone into available electrical outlets whenever possible; this recharges the device. Airports generally feature outlets, although a bit of searching is usually required if you seek a free one.

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate ChargerStep 2 : Plug your phone in every night when staying in a hotel. Beginning each day with a fully charged battery helps you maintain communication throughout your trip.

Step 3 : Purchase a cordless cell-phone-charger. Different models are available depending on the type of phone you have. These battery-powered chargers extend the life of your cell phone's power supply.

Step 4 : Power your phone with a car cell-phone-charger when you're on road trips. The chargers typically plug into your automobile's cigarette lighter.

Step 5 : Contact your airline to see if your plane offers recharging outlets. Purchase an adapter that allows your particular charger to fit the outlet. Ask the airline what type of outlets it provides.

So far the phones performance has been spectacular, the S voice S Voice has worked very well and much more improved from the galaxy S 2.  This phone is beautiful, super-fast. I haven't found any problems yet, but I will update as I use it. The screen is huge, but the phone is very thin and light. The graphics is also very great. In terms of battery performance its okay for a phone that has high performance, but if you have a car charger and one at home you should be good to go.. Verizon’s slick spectrum salesmanship doesn’t persuade DOJ

In many ways, Verizon has gone about its attempts to acquire more LTE spectrum much more wisely than AT&T did with its failed T-Mobile merger. After all, Verizon is just purchasing spectrum licenses from companies that won’t be able to use them on its own anyway, rather than outright buying a rival wireless carrier. But that apparently hasn’t been enough to persuade the Department of Justice, as the Wall Street Journal reports that the DOJ has decided to hold up Verizon’s proposed deals to acquire AWS spectrum licenses from major cable companies such as Comcast and Cox for around $3.9 billion.

Citing unnamed sources, WSJ says that the Justice Department is concerned that the proposed deal “will hurt competition for broadband Internet service” and would be “in effect, an agreement not to compete for Internet users in each other’s territory.” The sources say the DOJ is highly unlikely to pass off on the proposed deal unless Verizon and the cable companies make significant changes that satisfy the agency’s concerns over anticompetitive behavior.
Previously, Verizon had tried to bolster its case that its spectrum deal would be pro-competitive by essentially buying out one of the deal’s former critics and agreeing to swap some of its AWS spectrum with rival T-Mobile. Under that deal, Verizon and T-Mobile would agree to swap licenses on the AWS band that spans from 1710MHz to 1755MHz for uplink and 2110MHz to 2155MHz for downlink to patch up weak spots in their LTE spectrum portfolios. For its part, T-Mobile says it “will gain spectrum covering 60 million people.”

Prepaid Cell Phones Benefit

The Prepaid Smartphone is a device that works on the cellular prepaid plans. These plans allow cellular phone subscribers to pay money based on their service usage, as opposed to the traditional methods where you are billed monthly despite how much you actually use your phone.

These phones are designed with many advanced features like the internet as well as e-mail capabilities found on computer sand PDA (personal digital assistance). Many cell phone companies are starting to offer deals of the prepaid Smartphone instead of contract service or post-paid. By using smartphones, subscribers can get Wi-Fi services without acquiring about their credit score. They can easily buy voice minutes and credit relevant to data usage over a fixed package. Instead of an agreement plan that identifies a specific minute amount and also data utilization in every month at flat fee, prepaid smartphones usually stop working when the client has no minutes. These phones prove cost-effective to avoid extra charges or billing services for additional usage. In the long-run, these plans may seem expensive as data or minute unit charge is higher than postpaid plans.
The subscriber is required to continue pay money for data allotments and minute stop relent any service interruptions. Most of the time, Wireless carriers sell data card sand prepaid phones that subscriber can buy in specific allotments or denominations. It is believed that, there are a variety of benefits as well as limitations associated with prepaid Smartphone; some are talked about below:Since it has been pointed out, the major benefit of using these phones is that you simply can save lots of cash in the long run-only when you know how to find the difference. The individuals who don't like to agree upon twelve months contract tends to choose prepaid smartphone. With all the prepaid choices, you may either upgrade minutes at a monthly or daily basis-it is all up to you. There is not much difference between prepaid as well as postpaid cell phones as the former is more suitable because you get all similar functionality without paying additional hundred dollars.Additionally prepaid Smartphone provides consumers the liberty to change their cellular carrier as it is easier to process without any trouble of credit check. In such case, if you select the actual postpaid alternative and your credit score is not good; you will need to wait until you get your handset-what is more frustrating than this? On the prepaid Smartphone flip side it may seem quite confusing however the major problem of buying smart phone is that there exists a high opportunity that you simply end up spending more for the similar service without knowing this. It is because everyone has a belief if they continuously spend just a little money every time, the actual package will certainly change into an inexpensive plan over time. Another problem is that these phones are also be very limited in numbers thus there exists a good possibility the prepaid Smartphone you like might not be on hand under the services you are searching.

Product Reviews

The LG Optimus Elite is a great-looking device is loaded with powerful features. Experience Android on a large 3.5" screen, tap to pay with Google Wallet, and choose from hundreds of thousands of apps in Google Play. All that, combined with Unlimited Data & Messaging, puts the Optimus Elite a cut above the common smartphone. After scouting numerous smartphones being offered from the big names as well as prepaid, I opted to go for the LG Optimus Elite because of the positive reviews on this site as well as a few others. Admittedly I was a little skeptical about Virgin Mobile's capabilities but after using another provider who was a complete nightmare for 2 years and finding out that Virgin uses the Sprint network, I figured it was worth a leap of faith.

Setup:
The activation process was extremely simple. From the time I unboxed the phone to making my first call was less than 15 minutes. I did the activation online so I can't make a judgement about the manual setup process.

Initial quality:
This phone looks and feels like other phones I looked at that cost 100-150 more. The quality of the plastic is very good, it feels comfortable in your hand for extended periods and the 3.5" touchscreen is clear, sharp and accurate. Aesthetically, the phone looks simple but well put together.

Performance:
Having never used the Android OS before, I really didn't know what to expect but within an hour I had the basics down and in a week I was operating the phone to its full capabilities. I had no lockups, no lag, no crashes or stalls. The phone managed to keep pace with everything I threw at it. The phone has Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread which is considered a very stable build and I can see why. The phone isn't considered one of the fastest phones but it kept pace with my needs. Plus there's a small secret with this phone. Officially the CPU is rated at 800Mhz but after looking at a review on YT and testing my own phone, the CPU actually runs at 1GHz. Why LG did this? I don't know but I'll take free upgrades all day.

Key Features

  • 3.5” Capacitive Touchscreen
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
  • 5MP Camera, LED Flash and Video Capture
  • Android Market for all the latest applications

  • 800 MHz Processor

Samsung Galaxy S3 - What version is more profitable?

Samsung Galaxy S3 was released in May 2012, but this is already one of the most popular phones on the market, outselling most serious competitor to Apple iPhone 4S, which began half a year.

Samsung Galaxy S3 - What version is more profitable?

The Galaxy S III is powered by Samsung's Exynos quad-core 1.4GHz processor, which is based on the the ARM Cortex A9. It has a 4.8-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1280-by-720 pixels, which is housed in a shell that is 8.6 millimeters thick and weighs 133 grams. This is not surprising as the new flagship of the Samsung comes with the best features you can imagine.  This is already one of the best phones of 2012 defeating not only the iPhone 4S, but favorites like HTC One X, too.

Galaxy S3 is not sky-high price, so many people can afford it – or unlocked or contract. But the question is – what version is cheaper and more profitable? Let us try to understand.

If you prefer unlocked phones that can be used with any SIM card, Amazon may be your first choice. Right now they offer a 16GB version of the galaxy S3 – not much for such a owerful phone, but is still slightly more expensive than the average international price (which is about $650-700).

Shopping for Google has many interesting offers, starting at around $650-900 (price on 10 Jul 2012) for 16GB unlocked version. This is a bit difficult and not everyone can afford it, moreover, after purchasing the phone will have to pay for the SIM-card too. If you choose a relatively cheap price per month tariff by any operator and use it for 24 months.

On Contract
If no SIM card phone with separate data plan seems to be too expensive, can have a look at what mobile operators have to offer – there are many different Samsung Galaxy S3 deals to choose from, in the end.

T-Mobile has several 24-month plans , with different texts, minutes and data offers. Of course, the phone comes free, so within 24 months will have to pay, which is much cheaper than a SIM-free version with a separate card.

So both contract and unlocked versions have their good and bad sides. A phone without a SIM card with a separate SIM card will certainly cost you more than a contract, but you will be able to resell it when you want, or upgrade to newer. So this is for you to compare all the offers and decide which one to choose.

Reviews on Samsung Galaxy S III 4G Android Phone 16GB

If You are looking for the new Android Phone. We debated long and hard whether to get the Samsung S3 or the HTC EVO LTE. Our previous phones were the HTC EVO 4G. The Galaxy S III runs the Android 4.0 operating system (a.k.a., Ice Cream Sandwich), bringing a redesigned user interface with enhanced multitasking, notifications, full Web browsing experience, and more. You'll also enjoy innovative, next-gen features such as Face Unlock, which uses facial recognition to unlock the Galaxy S III, and Near Field Communications (NFC) capabilities.

The Galaxy S III will be able to access the Sprint 4G LTE network when it launches later in 2012 in limited markets. This phone is also compatible with Sprint's nationwide 3G network.
Pros
State-of-the-art everything. Advanced call-quality features.
Cons
Plastic body. Really, this lack of clarity on Sprint's LTE rollout is getting ridiculous.
Bottom Line
The Samsung Galaxy S III is a top-of-the-line Android smartphone just waiting for Sprint to turn on its new LTE network.
Physical Design
All of the new Galaxy S III models look the same, except for the carrier logo on the back panel. Each is available in dark blue or white (AT&T also has a red option coming this summer), and they're some of the biggest phones we've ever handled. At 5.4 by 2.8 by 0.34 inches (HWD) and 4.7 ounces, the GS3 is slightly bigger than the already-large HTC One X ($199, 4.5 stars), although it's still noticeably smaller and lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Note phone/tablet hybrid ($299, 3 stars). That said, this is not a phone for folks with small hands.

The new flagship smartphone from the world's number-one mobile phone company, Samsung's Galaxy S III ($199.99 with contract) is literally a huge achievement. If you love big phones with lots of options, the GS3 will deliver state-of-the-art performance with bonus sharing and media features that you're likely to continue discovering a year from now. Sprint subscribers now have two solid choices: The Galaxy S III ties with the HTC EVO 4G LTE ($199, 4 stars) as our Editors' Choice for touch-screen smartphones on Sprint.
